BK Precision 8600 DC Electronic Load

The BK Precision 8600 is a 150 W, 120 V Programmable DC Electronic Load. This model features transient speeds up to 25 kHz and high 16-bit measurement resolution. The BK Precision 8600 can be considered a viable solution for evaluating and testing a broad range of DC sources, including but not limited to, DC-DC Converters, DC Power Supplies, Battery Chargers, Batteries, and Photovoltaic arrays. This DC Electronic Load can operate in constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), constant power (CW), and constant resistance (CR) mode. Regardless of the mode, this instrument offers analog current monitoring and control and flexible triggering capabilities.

The BK Precision 8600 features a built-in battery test function with capacity level, voltage level. and timer stop conditions. The CR-LED mode offers a realistic simulation of typical LEDs loading behavior. For remote communication and programming, this model comes equipped with multiple communication interfaces. These interfaces are Standard USB, GPIB, and RS-232. Each one of these interfaces supports SCPI protocol. With this model, the user can compensate for voltage drops (up to 1 V) because of the inherent resistance of test leads running in between the programmable DC loads and the device under test. Thus, the remote sense option can provide the user with more accurate voltage measurements.

The BK Precision 8600 DC Electronic Load can also be operated with the current controlled externally. A 0-10 v input signal through the external analog programming terminals will simulate 0 - full scale of this model`s current rating. This model comes equipped with a powerful protection scheme, which includes reverse voltage protection for either local or remote mode of operation.
