Keysight U1062A High-Speed PXI Digitizers

The obsolete Keysight U1062A Digitizers include several different variations: Acqiris Model DC152 with 2 channels, 2-4 GS/s sample rate, and 256-512 kpoints of memory and Acqiris Model DC122 with 1 channel, 4 GS/s sample rate, and 512 kpoints of memory. The U1062A has an optional memory upgrade that allows the user to significantly increase the maximum number of segments. In addition, the user must choose the front end with two options. One is a dual channel, 2 GHz, 50 Ohm front-end. The other is a single channel, 2 GHz, 50 Ohm front end. Finally, there is a version with BNC connectors and a version with SMA connectors.

The module includes a calibration input, essential for precise calibration for the timing of several interleaved ADCs, allowing compensation of four dedicated 8-bit DACs on the chip. Multiple ADC interleaving is essential for high-speed data conversion systems. The process increases the effective sampling frequency in high-speed scanning systems by acquiring the same signal in two or more ADCs in parallel and out of phase. These acquired signals are then reorganized and recombined by the memory and the acquisition controller to reconstruct the waveform of the signal.

The U1062A has an internal memory with a dual port structure that can be exploited to allow simultaneous data acquisition. The memory can be converted into a circular buffer of a selected number of banks between 2 and 1000 data that can be read in a single bank, while acquiring data in any available free bank.
