National Instruments 782536-01 Shielded I/O Connector Block

The National Instruments 782536-01 is the identifying part number for the SCB-68A Shielded I/O Connector Block. Designed to create a reliable shielded I/O connection to interface with plug-in DAQ devices, it is a versatile option for a wide range of testing applications. Featuring 68 pin female connectors, this I/O connector block can mounted on either a panel or a DIN rail to fit the specific needs of the testing system. The 782536-01 has a male 68 pin SCSI connector for I/O and can accommodate wire gauges of 14–30 AWG.

The mechanical enclosure of the 782536-01 sets it apart from other connector blocks with features including a resettable fuse and a detachable magnetic lid. The 68 pin connectors facilitate both single and dual multifunction I/O’s, providing the user with flexibility with their data acquisition. When there is no signal conditioning installed, the 782536-01 has a power consumption at +5 VDC of 1 mA. At maximum, it draws 800 mA from the host computer. The fuse is not able to be replaced by the user, and is rated at 1.10 A. For safety, it is important to note that the block should not exceed voltages of 30 Vrms/42 Vpk/60 VDC.

Diverse environmental conditions are no problem for the 782536-01, which can operate within a temperature range of  0 to 70 °C. When it comes to storing the connector block, this minimum temperature is extended to a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C. Equipped for use in altitudes up to 2,000 m, the connector block measures an easily manageable 14.7 × 14.7 × 3.0 cm (5.8 × 5.8 × 1.2 in.) and weighs in at 644 g (1 lb 7 oz).
