National Instruments CSM-10A Current Shunt Module

The CSM-10A is a Current Shunt Module (CSM) developed by National Instruments. The NI CSM-10A comes with part number 777488-02. The CSM-10A belongs to the Current Shunt Module Series. This Current Shunt Module enables a digital multimeter (DMM) to specify electrical current by measuring the voltage drop across a precision resistor. The CSM-10A is used with the following mandatory accessories: a flat-head screwdriver, a pair of test probes (red and black), and a compatible DMM. A computer system is required to initiate the CSM-10A module.

The NI CSM-10A is designed for measuring current by computing voltage drop over the precision resistor. The CSM-10A is compatible with multiple digital multimeter modules like the NI PXI-4070, NI PCMCIA-4050, and NI PXI/PCI-4060. This Current Shunt Module can additionally be utilized with any third-party DMM whose voltage-measurement banana jacks are 0.75 inches apart. The NI CSM-10A is configured for a current shunt of 10 A. The CSM-10A also has a maximum current limit of 10 A. The CSM-10A is assembled with a 12.5A/250V, 5 × 20 mm, quick-acting fuse.

The burden voltage for the CSM-10A is 400 mV. The CSM-10A has an accuracy of ±0.5% with DC-25 kHz. The CSM-10A has a maximum working voltage in two different scenarios. For HI to earth ground, the maximum working voltage is a maximum of 250 V, while the same maximum working voltage of 250 V max is possible for LO to earth ground mode. The CSM-10A has the operating temperature is in the range between 0 to 55 °C.
