National Instruments HDD-8266 RAID Array

Featured with a 24-Port PCIe RAID controller, the NI HDD-8266 (Part Numbers: 782858-01, 782859-01, and 782854-01) is a RAID Array for National Instruments disk applications. This storage bank can be configured for streaming to or from various applications through a fast and reliable PCI Express-based link. The NI HDD-8266 tends to house as many as 24 hard drives. You can use SAS or SATA storage devices with this RAID Array. As far as its physical attributes are concerned, this RAID Array is a 2U sized Chassis.

This system is dispatched to operate in a mode called RAID 0. In this mode, the unit operates with optimum parameters to provide you with the best possible read/write data rates. However, you can always reconfigure your HDD-8266 to operate in a different RAID mode if the unit is compatible with the RAID mode that you are trying to run. 

According to National Instruments, this product is designed to perform well under two other modes: RAID5 and RAID6. Unlike its predecessors, the NI HDD-8266 incorporates an advanced version of PCI Express (x8). Thus, it can provide you with a maximum bandwidth of 3.6 GB/s. The standard configuration of the HDD-8266 based data streaming system requires an x8 PXI Express device compatible chassis with a PXI Express host controller (NI PXIe-8384). In this system, the NI PXIe-8384 is connected to the HDD-8266 via an x8 PCI Express link. The NI HDD-8266 can also be operated with a non-x8 PXIe chassis and controllers, but at a degraded speed.  

HDD-8266 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the RAID Array will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
