The NI-9940 (Part Number: 779567-01) is a Backshell Connector Kit that provides maximum operator protection and safety for CompactRIO and CompactDAQ modules. This device is designed to be used in industrial environments where automation systems involve high voltage levels. The NI 9940 comes with integrated strain relief. You can use the strain reliefs of this backshell kit for keeping the signal wires in order and efficiently fastened. This device is designed for 36-position spring terminal modules. A single unit can only be used with a single 36-position connector.

However, it can be used with other devices, modules, and cards, with spring terminal connectivity.
