National Instruments SCB-100 Shielded Connector Block

The SCB-100 (Part Number: 776990-01, 182788C-01) is a Shielded Connector Block. This Connector Block is designed to provide easy cabling between 100-pin digital I/O devices and I/O signals. The NI SCB-100 offers maximum protection from noise corruption since it is a shielded accessory with a reference temperature sensor. It has 100 screw terminals, and a strain relief bar.

The following are needed to use the SCB-100:

·         100-pin DAQ device and device documentation,

·         SH100100 cable for E Series/MIO devices or SH100-100-F cable for DIO/TIO Series devices,

·         ≤26 AWG wire,

·         And other equipment which can be found in the installation guide.

This Shielded Connector Block is designed for E Series MIO devices (NI 6025E, 6031E, 6071E and 6033E), DIO devices (NI 6511, 6508, PCI-DIO-96, 6509, 6512, 6514, 6513, 6527, 6515 etc.), and devices from the TIO Series like NI 6624. Moreover, the NI SCB-100 can be used with various other products that come with a 100-pin male 0.050 series shielded D-type I/O connector. The temperature sensor incorporated in this Connector Block can accommodate a broad range of thermocouple models. With the SCB-100, you can measure thermocouples in single-ended or differential configurations.  

This National Instruments SCB-100 Shielded Connector Block offers low-noise signal termination when it is used with shielded cables. Low noise termination is important for digital signal transmission systems. The NI SCB-100 comes equipped with 3 general purpose breadboard areas. This Connector Block comes equipped with chassis ground terminals that can be used for grounding high-impedance sources. The cold-junction sensor can provide an output of 10 mV/°C with ±0.5 °C accuracy. In typical operating conditions, the NI SCB-100 should draw no more than 10 mA of current at +5 VDC. The NI device weighs 15.6 oz, and measures 7.7 x 6.0 x 1.8 in. in physical dimensions. The device has a component operating temperature range of 0 to 70 °C, a storage temperature range of –55 to 125 °C, and a noncondensing operating and storage humidity range of 5% to 90% and 5% to 90% respectively. 

SCB-100 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Connector Block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
