National Instruments USB-1358 High Voltage Backplane Assembly

The National Instruments USB-1358 (Part Number: 776576-581) is a High Voltage Backplane Assembly designed to provide connectivity between a computer and an SCXI switch module. You can use this High Voltage Backplane Assembly to route high-voltage signals between switches. The NI USB-1358 utilizes the 10-pin rear connector of an SCXI switch for communications. This 12-slot kit consists of a USB-1359 communication adapter, one 8-slot backplane adapter, two 8-pin HVAB plugs, and appropriate USB cables. This High Voltage Backplane Assembly offers a broad range of options for your SCXI switch chassis functionality expansion. 

The communication adapter incorporated in this kit enables you to communicate with your chassis through a USB port. The USB-1358 adds a 12-slot backplane to your chassis. These additional slots can be used for signal routing or expansion of the matrix between SCXI switch modules. The USB connectivity on this adapter can bring a completely plug-and-play switching experience for your SCXI systems. In addition to USB connectivity, you can also consider connecting to a DMM switch or a switch controller since the communication adapter supports these connectivity options as well. However, USB connectivity is generally preferred in applications where straightforward plug & play connectivity is desired to a switch type chassis.

This communication kit is offered with a standard, 1-meter USB cable. The NI USB-1358 is designed for modules containing 10-pin connectors and cannot be used with modules containing 50-pin rear connectors.

USB-1358 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the High Voltage Backplane Assembly will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
