National Instruments AT-MIO-16L Multifunction I/O Board

The National Instruments AT-MIO-16L is a Multifunction Input/Output Board. The AT-MIO-16L is available with part number 320476-01. This board is the version of the AT-MIO-16 designed for low-level signals. The software-programmable gain settings for low-level analog input signals include 1, 10, 100, and 500.

This Multifunction I/O Board is used for testing, measurement, data acquisition, and control applications. The AT-MIO-16L board features 16 analog inputs, a 12-bit analog to digital (ADC), and digital to analog (DAC) converters. The AT-MIO-16L board also contains eight digital input/output TTL lines and three 16-bit counter timers. For the synchronization of measurement functions to a single timing event or trigger, the NI AT-MIO-16L board contains a real-time system integration (RTSI) bus. This board can interface with an SCXI system, which results in the system being able to accommodate up to 3000 analog signals from voltage sources, current sources, strain gauges, and thermocouples using signal conditioning extensions. The AT-MIO-16L board also has the capability of generating and acquiring digital signals.  

This Multifunction I/O Board can be used with PC compatibles using NI-DAQ software, Windows using LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI, and with the DOS using LabWindows. LabWindows only supports the conventional programming languages, while the LabVIEW supports graphical programming. However, data acquisition, data analysis, instrument control, and graphical data presentation libraries are available in both of the packages. From a functionality point of view, NI-DAQ software is equivalent to LabVIEW and LabWindows data acquisition libraries. Both of these types of software reduce control and acquisition time for data.
