National Instruments 781030-01 C Series Digital Module

National Instruments part number 781030-01 describes the version of the NI-9375 C Series Digital Module with DSUB connectors. These connectors increase the compatibility of the module, allowing it to connect with both CompactRIO and CompactDAQ systems. The connectors are secured with screw flanges at a recommended torque of 0.2 N·m (1.80 lb·in.). The 781030-01 has 32 digital channels in total, with 16 digital input and 16 digital output channels. Signals between 6 and 30 volts can be handled by the digital output of the module, depending on the type of external power source that is being utilized by the test system.

When in active mode, the 781030-01 uses 450 mW of power. In sleep mode, however, the power used by the module is only 25 μW. The maximum thermal dissipation of the device, at 70 °C (158 °F), is 1.5 W in active mode and 0.6 W in sleep mode.

The 781030-01 features both a sinking input and a sourcing output type, with a power-on output state of channels off. The voltage range of the external power supply used with the module spans from 6 VDC to 30 VDC. The continuous output current of the 781030-01 varies, depending on the number of channels that are active. When all channels are being used, each channel can handle a maximum current of 100 mA. However, when only one channel of the module is active, it can reach a maximum of 400 mA. The module has a weight of only 148 g (5.3 oz). 

The 781030-01 has various precautions in place to increase safety for the user.
