National Instruments 781510-01 Temperature Input Module

National Instruments part number 781510-01 is for the NI-9214 Temperature Input Module. A part of the C Series for CompactRIO and CompactDAQ systems, the 781510-01 is made specifically for systems with a high channel count. The module boasts 16 thermocouple channels, and can accommodate an impressive voltage measurement range of ±78.125 mV. 

C Series modules from National Instruments such as the 781510-01 provide advanced data acquisition and control for applications that require the most accurate measurements, especially when paired with the front-mounted TB-9214 isothermal terminal block. When it comes to power, the 781510-01 is incredibly efficient- it’s power consumption in active mode is at maximum 300 mW, and only 30 μW when in sleep mode. 

The 781510-01 features both High-Resolution and High-Speed modes. The Channel-to-COM ratio of the High-Resolution mode reaches 100 dB, while the COM-to-earth ground ratio is 170 dB. For the High-Speed mode, the Channel-to-COM ratio is 70 dB, while the COM-to-earth ground ratio is 120 dB. 

The wiring of the 781510-01 is screw-terminal wiring, and the terminal block has a wire gauge range from 0.05 mm² to 0.5 mm² (30 AWG to 20 AWG).  The parameters of the wire strip lengths include 51 mm (2.0 in.) of outer insulation in addition to 5.1 mm (0.2 in.) of inner insulation that is stripped from the end. 

Built for operation in a variety of environmental conditions, the 781510-01 is able to be operated within a wide temperature range of  -40 °C to 70 °C ( -40°F to 158°F). The entire module weighs 141 g (5.0 oz).
