National Instruments NI-9231 Sound and Vibration Input Module

The National Instruments NI-9231 (Part Number: 783610-01) is a Sound and Vibration Input Module from the C Series. This module comes featured with 8 differential analog input channels, 51.2 kS/s per channel update rate, ±5 V input range, and 24-bit resolution. Since it is a high density Sound and Vibration Module, the NI-9231 can gauge signals generated from both the IEPE sensors and non-IEPE sensors including proximity probes, tachometers, and accelerometers. This module can also be used for sampling modern measurement tachometers, proximity probes, and microphones.

With this model, the user will not need any external power source for sensors because it comes with an integrated 2 mA source. This onboard excitation source can be used for signal generation internally. The NI 9231 has built-in and self-adjusting anti-aliasing filters to adjust the sampling rate automatically. This module supports simultaneous sampling through a Delta-Sigma type ADC. This Sound and Vibration Input Module comes with an N-Type Coaxial front connector.  The National Instruments NI-9231 is completely hot swappable because its installation will bring no impact on the host system. With CompactRIO, the user can achieve a flexible architecture with extreme ruggedness and C Series modules.

To meet a broad range of environmental and application needs, this module can be used within a range of -40 °C to 70 °C. At 51.2 kS/s update rate, this module offers 107 dB dynamic range. Moreover, it is fully compatible with TEDS sensors and features IEPE Open and Short Detection as well.
