National Instruments NI-9474 C Series Digital Output Module

The NI-9474 C Series Digital Output Module is designed to integrate with both CompactDAQ and CompactRIO platforms. This 8 Digital Output Channel Module has 12 V, 24 V digital I/O logic levels and 250 Vrms, CAT II, channel-to-earth isolation. The NI 9474 module has two part numbers: 779003-01 and 783908-01. Both part numbers feature 8 digital, sourcing output channels, each with 5 VDC to 30 VDC capacity and 1 us update rate maximum. This instrumentation allows the user to make direct connectivity to a wide array of industrial equipment, e.g. relays, motors, and actuators. The NI-9474 features two options for connectivity. While part number 779003-01 has 10-position Screw Terminal front connectors, part number 783908-01 has 10-position Spring Terminal front connectors instead. Neither of the versions of the NI–9474 are conformal coated, but they are both enclosed.

While the CompactDAQ platform combines data acquisition and signal conditioning functions in one module, the CompactRIO platform incorporates an extremely rugged, compact architecture with C Series modules in one instrument. Both platforms are powered by NI LabVIEW software. The CompactRIO system has an FPGA component that the user can reconfigure for time and trigger settings that are user-defined. The software helps the user customize settings for the acquisition, analysis, visualization, and management of their measurement data on the CompactDAQ platform.
The NI 9474 module has several required accessories for operation. These include the NI-9927 Backshell Connector Kit for the screw terminal version of the module and the NI-9981 Backshell Connector Kit for the spring terminal version.

The NI-9474 Digital Output Module features an output impedance from 0.07 Ω to 0.13 Ω, a continuous output current of 1.0 A per channel, and 2,300 Vrms of transient overvoltage protection between the output channels and the backplane. The spring terminal variant of the device weighs 4.9 oz while the screw terminal variant weighs more at 5.3 oz. The module has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 °C to 70 °C and -40 °C to 85 °C respectively, non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10 to 90% RH and 5 to 95% RH respectively..
