National Instruments NI-9516 C Series Motor Drive Interface Module
The NI-9516 (Part number: 780112-02) is a C Series Motor Drive Interface Module manufactured by National Instruments. This module fulfills the EMC requirements. These requirements are necessary and define the protection limits, as well as provide safety against damaging intrusion. The NI-9516 is intended for industrial use. It is a servo drive interface module which can connect to a system through 2 connectors. The first connector is a 15 pin DSUB drive interface connector and the other is a 20 pin MDR feedback connector.
The NI-9516 needs an external power supply. It can connect the external power supply to the Vsup input. National Instruments proposes multiple options for connecting the NI-9516 to servo drives. A NI-9516 Cable and Terminal Block Bundle are used to attach to an external servo drive. This Motor Drive Interface Module can also be used with an AKD cable.
The NI 9516 module supports two encoder channels that allow for dual loop feedback and help enhance system constancy and accuracy. It also provides backlash advantage. The Encoder 0 channel contains a Phase A, a Phase B, and an Index input. The Encoder 1 channel includes a Phase A and a Phase B input. The NI-9516 can arrange the Forward Limit and organize the Reverse Limit. The NI-9516 can configure Digital Input signals in software. It can perform for sourcing or sinking output devices. It can also switch the active state of the inputs in the software to on or off.
NI-9516 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs at Apex Waves.
