National Instruments sbRIO-9213 C Series Thermocouple Input Module

The sbRIO-9213 (Part Number: 781210-01), designed and manufactured by National Instruments, is a C Series Temperature Input Module. The NI sbRIO-9213 C Series Temperature Input Module comes with 16 differential analog temperature input channels. Moreover, the sbRIO-9213 module has one autozero channel and one cold-junction compensation channel. The internal autozero channel serves the purpose of compensation for offset error. The cold-junction compensation channel caters to the temperature gradients caused by adjacent heat sources across the NI sbRIO-9213 module’s terminals.

The sbRIO-9213 module features an input voltage range of ±78 mV and a sampling frequency of 75 S/s. The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) resolution of the NI sbRIO-9213 module is 24-bit. The sbRIO-9213 module is available with a 36-terminal detachable spring-terminal connector for the 16 differential high-density thermocouple input channels, which makes the module a preferable choice for applications requiring a higher number of channels. The NI sbRIO-9213 module is capable of measuring NIST-defined temperature ranges using all standard thermocouples. The properties of compensation channels and anti-aliasing filtrating in the sbRIO-9213 module assure its improved accuracy in temperature measurements.  

The NI sbRIO-9213 module can also operate in high-resolution mode, featuring a conversion time as fast as 55ms and a sampling rate as slow as 1 S/s. Also, the temperature sensitivity of the sbRIO-9213 module decreases in this mode. The NI sbRIO-9213 module offers overvoltage protection up to ±30 V between any two channels. The sbRIO-9213 module is designed with the safety level voltage of 250 Vrms channel-to-earth ground isolation. In addition to the system's safety, the protection scheme of the NI sbRIO-9213 improves the characteristic of noise elimination. The sbRIO-9213 consumes 490 mW power in active mode.
