National Instruments sbRIO-9215 C Series Voltage Input Module

The sbRIO-9215 is a Voltage Input Module from the C Series. The manufacturer of the NI sbRIO-9215 module is National Instruments. The sbRIO-9215 module comes in 2 versions with part numbers 781029-01 and 780878-01. The main specifications of both part numbers are similar. However, they differ in terms of input isolation and front connection type. Part number 781029-01 comes with BNC connectors and offers ground isolation between channel and earth up to 60 VDC. However, part number 780878-01 features screw terminal front connections and a Ch-Earth ground isolation of 250 V_rms.

The National Instruments sbRIO-9215 C Series Voltage Input Module is a 4-channel module. The input channels of the sbRIO-9215 module are differential channels. The NI sbRIO-9215 incorporates four BNC connectors or one detachable screw-terminal connector with 10 terminals. The sbRIO-9215 module supports simultaneous sampling, which means all the input terminals of the module can receive input signals independently at the same time. Another important feature of the NI sbRIO-9215 is double barrier ground isolation between channel and earth. The isolation not only protects the sbRIO-9215 module from overvoltages and transients, but also eliminates noise signals. This feature is useful in applications with a high common-mode voltage range. The NI sbRIO-9215 can safely withstand overvoltage up to ±30 VDC.

The sbRIO-9215 C Series Voltage Input Module can also be used in low-power sleep mode. In this mode, the power consumed and heat dissipated are reduced when compared to the normal operating mode. The maximum power consumption of the sbRIO-9215 in sleep mode is 25 μW. The power consumption in active mode is up to 560 mW.
