National Instruments sbRIO-9221 C Series Voltage Input Module

The sbRIO-9221 is a C Series Voltage Input Module. The sbRIO-9221 module is developed by National Instruments. The sbRIO-9221 Voltage Input Module is available in 2 versions. The difference between these versions is the input isolation voltage and connector type. One module comes with a D-SUB connector and 60 VDC ground isolation. The other version features a screw terminal front connector. The ground isolation is 250 V_rms for the screw terminal version of the NI sbRIO-9221 module. The part numbers of the sbRIO-9221 are 781115-01 and 781116-01.

The sbRIO-9221 has 8 channels for voltage inputs. The input type of the NI sbRIO-9221 module is analog single-ended. The sbRIO-9221 Voltage Input Module comes with a D-SUB connector or a 10-terminal, detachable screw-terminal connector. The D-SUB connector features 25-pins. Each of these channels has a designated pin “AI” for voltage signal connection. The NI sbRIO-9221 module supports sampling up to a maximum rate of 800 kS/s. Simultaneous sampling is not supported by the sbRIO-9221 module. The channels of the NI sbRIO-9221 are individually protected against overvoltage.

The sbRIO-9221 C Series Voltage Input Module has an input range from -60 V to 60 V. Scanning, buffering, and sampling of the input signals is done by an ADC with resolution of 12 bits. Due to its wider input range, the sbRIO-9221 module is ideal for various applications. The main applications of the NI sbRIO-9221 module are in the automotive industry. The sbRIO-9221 module is also used in other industrial level applications, as well as measurement applications of smaller cells.
