National Instruments sbRIO-9401 C Series Digital Module

The NI sbRIO-9401 (Part Number: 782400-01) is a C Series Digital Module. This module enables you to configure the digital I/O in 4-bit increments. Thus, you can operate this module in three configurations: 8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs, or 4 digital inputs and outputs. The reconfigurable I/O technology enables you to program the module for implementing custom digital communication protocols, high-speed counters, pulse generation, high-speed timers, or other applications. 

This C Series Digital Module offers transient isolation between the backplane and the digital I/O channels. The NI sbRIO-9401 can operate with a maximum update rate of 100 ns. The digital I/O channels are compatible with 5V TTL logic levels. The 8 DIO channels are grouped in two independently configurable ports. Thus, you can configure each port for input or output. This module supports various current flow directions, including sourcing input, sinking input, sourcing output, and sinking output. You can use this module with any CompactRIO hardware.

The National Instruments sbRIO-9401 C Series Digital Module is offered with D-SUB connectivity. The digital I/O lines support bidirectional operations. This module draws 580 mW of current from the chassis while operating in active mode. The module draws 1 mW in sleep mode. The sbRIO-9401 is a Measurement Category I module. In the default configuration, the module is dispatched with a preconfigured overvoltage protection circuitry set to actuate at ±30 V. This Digital I/O Module is designed for challenging industrial applications since it comes with a decent MTBF.
