National Instruments sbRIO-9482 C Series Relay Output Module

The National Instruments sbRIO-9482 (Part Number: 783000-01) is a Relay Output Module. This C Series Module has 4 channels with SPST relays. This module is designed to operate with the precision necessary for delicate industrial applications. The relays incorporated in this module are electromechanical relays. The screw terminal front connector provides connectivity with 4 electromechanical relay channels. The default power-on output state of the NI sbRIO-9482 forces the module to start with all four channels in the OFF state. Thus, the sbRIO-9482 is a safe choice for critical manufacturing and process applications. 

Each channel of this C Series Relay Output Module operates with 0.2 Ω resistance and can withstand a maximum switching current of 2.5 amperes at 30 VDC. However, the capability of the channels to provide maximum switching current on a per channel basis decreases when more channels are taken into service. With all channels on, you can acquire a maximum of 1.5 amperes of switching current per channel, while operating at 30 VDC. The NI sbRIO-9482 is designed to work at a switching rate of 1 operation per second. 

The relays used in this module have the capability to release in 10 milliseconds maximum and to operate within 15 milliseconds. The SPST relays have a mechanical life expectancy of 20,000,000 operations. The electrical life expectancy is 100,000 operations. The NI sbRIO-9482 module consumes around 580 mW of current while operating in active mode. In sleep mode, the module requires around 10 mW of maximum current.
