National Instruments cFP-2210 Controller for Compact FieldPoint

Featured with 128 MB Storage, 256 MB DRAM, and 400 MHz speed, the National Instruments cFP-2210 (Part Number: 777317-2210) is an embedded RT (real-time) Controller for Compact FieldPoint. For PC-oriented distributed I/O, this Controller can be used as an Ethernet Interface – specifically the 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet. With this model, users can add data logging, signal processing, and various control elements to their Compact FieldPoint Program by using the NI FieldPoint driver 6.0.1 or later, LabVIEW Real-Time Module 8.5.1 or later, and/or LabVIEW. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. It has 2 digital input and 2 digital outputs which can be used in connecting a simple operator interface to the device.

The National Instruments cFP-2210 comes equipped with two RS-232 Serial Ports. This Controller can easily be connected to an Ethernet network using a RJ-45 Ethernet port through a standard CAT-5 cable with an Ethernet hub in between. However, direct connection to a computer is also possible through an Ethernet crossover cable. National Instruments recommends that the length of the cable used for Ethernet connectivity should be less than 100m. The cFP-2210 receives power from an externally located power supply, which extends to all the connected I/O modules after proper filtration and regulation. For redundancy, two pairs of V and C terminals are provided. The user must connect a power supply to one pair at least. For backup purposes, another power supply can be connected to the other pair of terminals.

By default, the NI cFP-2210 takes power from the source operating at higher voltages. In case of a power failure, the Controller will automatically switch over to the second power source. This Controller comes with one layer of protection for reverse-voltage.  This model also comes equipped with 1 standard DB-9 connector and three 10-position modular jacks. The device weighs 9.8 oz., and is mountable on a 35 mm DIN rail, in a standard 19 in. rack, or on a panel. It has a power supply input voltage range of 11 to 30 VDC, a recommended operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C.
