National Instruments cFP-AIO-600 Multifunction I/O Module for Compact FieldPoint

The National Instruments cFP-AIO-600 (Part Number: 777318-600) is a Compact FieldPoint based Multifunction I/O Module with 4 analog input channels and 4 analog output channels. This module can be employed for the measurement of mA current loops or voltage from various industrial transmitters and sensors. Moreover, it can also output 4 current loop channels to gauges, control valves, and other actuators. This module comes with some special features, such as automatic scaling and linearization for input signals and output signals. Thus, this module makes programming easier for the user since it does not require the conversion of binary numbers into different industrial engineering units in the monitoring or control software.

The NI cFP-AIO-600 offers 12-bit resolution and 1.7 kHz hardware backed update rate. With the help of indicators for open current loops incorporated in this module, the user will be able to pinpoint broken loops and open circuits quickly. This Multifunction I/O Module comes with 11 input ranges up to ± 24 mA or ± 36 V with overranging. This module offers 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 20 mA current output ranges without over-ranging. It has a hardware update rate of 1,700 updates per second.

The NI cFP-AIO-600 features 20% overranging for voltage signals. This module’s output channels can source current from a 125 mA, 10 to 30 VDC external power supply. It has a power requirement of 600 mW from the network module. In the FieldPoint system, these four output channels and their respective common remain isolated for all other modules. However, there is no isolation between the four output channels and the four input channels.

The cFP-AIO-600 weighs 3.9 oz. The NI device has a recommended operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C, a storage temperature range of –55 to 85 °C, a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90% RH, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz. The module is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN-61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1.
