National Instruments cRIO-9012 CompactRIO Controller

The cRIO-9012 (Part number: 779563-01) is a CompactRIO Controller by National Instruments. This Controller is viable for enhanced monitoring and control applications. This model has many ports, which includes one USB port and one Ethernet port. There is also one serial port available in this controller. The NI cRIO-9012 can be combined with a CompactRIO Chassis, which results in a system that can operate with C Series I/O modules. The cRIO 9012 is equipped with an industrial 400 MHz Free-scale MPC5200 processor.

The cRIO NI 9012 is designed for low power consumption, consistent, and extreme roughness. It is featured with dual 9 to 35 VDC supply inputs. This VDC range helps deliver remote power to the CompactRIO Chassis/modules. The CompactRIO NI cRIO-9012 can receive 6 to 35 VDC power supply inputs during operation, which helps the Controller operate for extended time periods in remote applications with the use of a solar power or a battery. The Controller can operate as an individual control for logging applications. The NI device has a maximum power input of 20 W, a voltage input range of 9 V to 35 V (on power-up) and 6 V to 35 V (after power-up), and a recommended operating temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C.

The NI cRIO-9012 is structured with 64 MB of DRAM memory, and has a maximum data rate of 12 MB per second. It is also furnished with a minimum of 128 MB of nonvolatile storage. The device is equipped with a SMB connector, a RS-232 serial port, a USB port, and a RJ-45 Ethernet port. The Ethernet port has 10/100 Mbits per second. This port enables the Controller to execute programmatic communication through a network and further enables the Controller to communicate with the built-in files and web servers. The high-speed USB host port provides extra storage capacity to the Controller. It enables the NI cRIO-9012 to connect with external USB-based storage media. The external USB-based storage media includes flash drives and hard drives. It is workable for embedded logging applications that need extended storage. The device weighs 17.2 oz., and measures 3.6 x 3.0 x 3.5 in. in dimensions.
