NI cRIO-9072 Reconfigurable Embedded Chassis and Integrated CompactRIO Controller 

The National Instruments cRIO-9072 (part number 779998-01) is a Reconfigurable Embedded Chassis that includes an integrated CompactRIO controller designed to deliver high performance and precision in complex applications. It is powered by the Xilinx Spartan-3 chip, making it capable of executing even the most demanding algorithms and operations with ease.

The cRIO-9072 controller delivers unparalleled processing power and speed. It features 24 multipliers and 432 kbits of available block RAM, providing seamless processing of even the most complex data sets. The cRIO-9072's connectivity features are just as impressive. It has screw-terminal wiring that accepts copper conductor wire gauged 26 AWG to 14 AWG with a wire strip length of 6 mm. The cRIO-9072 has secure connector securement with screw flanges, which require a torque of 0.3 N·m to 0.4 N·m.

The cRIO-9072 controller has IEEE 802.3 compatibility with 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet. The communication rates available for the controller are 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or  auto-negotiated. The maximum cabling distance is 100 m/segment. The RS-232 serial port has a maximum baud rate of 115,200 bps and supports data bits of 5, 6, 7, and 8. In addition, it offers flow control of RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, or DTR/DSR. The nonvolatile memory of the cRIO-9072 is 128 MB at minimum, while the DRAM is 64 MB.

In terms of LEDs, the POWER LED indicates that the cRIO-9072 is powered on and that the connected power supply is adequate. The STATUS LED is off during normal operation, but it flashes a certain number of times every few seconds to indicate specific error conditions. Additionally, the FPGA LED can be used to help debug the application or retrieve application status. It is recommended to use the LabVIEW FPGA Module and NI-RIO software to program this LED to meet the needs of your application.

The module has dimensions of 11.3 in. x 3.4 in. x 2.3 in. when unloaded and weighs 32.7 oz, making it compact and portable for use in various environments.
