National Instruments cRIO-9076 CompactRIO Controller

Featured with a powerful FPGA (Spartan-6 LX 45 by Xilinx) and 1.33 GHz Dual-Core Processer, the National Instruments cRIO-9076 (Part Number: 781716-01) is a CompactRIO Controller. This robust, integrated system contains a reconfigurable chassis and a real-time embedded controller. The NI cRIO-9076 has four ports and comes equipped with 2 GB DRAM. This model is far more effective than the previous ones as it comes with massive, 32 GB internal storage, and a USB port, in addition to RJ-45 Ethernet and serial ports. The RS-232 Serial Port offers 230,400 bps baud rate, 5, 6, 7, 8 data bits, and 1, 2 stop bits.

The Spartan-6 LX 45 FPGA in this Controller offers 54,576 flip-flops, 27, 2886-input LUTs, 58 DSP48s, 5 DMA channels, and 2,088 Kbits block RAM. The cRIO NI 9076 can be operated over an input range of 9 V to 30 V. This CompactRIO Controller weighs around 643 g and the physical dimensions are 7.0 in. × 3.4 in. × 2.5 in. The new four-slot system is compatible with VxWorks operating system, the NI Serial driver software, and supports almost all industry leading software programs, including the LabVIEW Real-Time Module and the LabVIEW FPGA Module.

The USB ports of the cRIO 9076 can handle peripheral as well as mass storage devices. Moreover, the FTP server provided by the Ethernet port of the Controller can also be used for retrieving data from the onboard storage of the NI cRIO 9076. With the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool, the user can configure various controller startup options, including No App, IP Reset, Safe Mode, and Console out etc. The controller has a power consumption value of up to 15 W, and a recommended power supply of 24 W/24 VDC.

The NI device has a recommended operating temperature range of -20 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C, non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10% RH to 90% RH and 5% RH to 95% RH respectively, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
