National Instruments DAQCard-DIO-24 Digital I/O PC Card

The National Instruments DAQCard-DIO-24 (Part Number: 776912-01) is an 82C55A PPI based Digital I/O PC Card. This card is designed for Macintosh and PCs equipped with a Type II PCMCIA slot. The 82C55A PPI incorporated in this card is a powerful chip and performs all the I/O functions. This Digital I/O PC Card has 24 programmable I/O pins. These pins are distributed in three 8-bit ports. The 82C55A PPI chip has three operation modes: strobed I/O, the bidirectional bus I/O, and simple I/O. The I/O channel of this device has 1 data bus, 1 address bus, multiple support, and control signals and interrupt lines. The I/O channel interface circuitry contains a card information structure, timing interface circuitry, data buffers, PC Card control registers, and an address decoder.

For digital I/O transmission, a 25-pin I/O connector is incorporated in this Digital I/O PC Card. Moreover, you can use an optional PSH27-50F-D1 cable to connect your DAQCard-DIO-24 to a 50-pin standard male connector. You can also connect this card to other National Instruments accessories and devices, such as the SC-2051 and the CB-50 with the help of an optional PSH27-50F-D1 cable. This Digital I/O PC Card can provide a +5 V power supply to external digital circuitry through a dedicated pin– Pin 25. The NI DAQCard-DIO-24 can be connected to a broad range of I/O racks, test instruments, screw terminal panels, plotters, printers, and other parallel interface equipped devices. In typical conditions, this device draws around 60 mA of current from the host PC.

DAQCard-DIO-24 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the PC Card will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
