National Instruments DAQPAD-6016 Multifunction I/O Device

The DAQPAD-6016 (Part Numbers: 782991-01) is a Multifunction I/O Device specially engineered for mobile and/or space-constrained applications. The DAQPAD-6016 allows for a plug-and-play installation through a USB connection and NI-DAQmx software to reduce overall setup time and rapid configurations of data acquisition applications. The device includes direct screw-terminal connectivity to simplify signal connections. The DAQPad-6016 has two standard 50-pin connectors that can be used to accommodate customized or third-party accessories. The DAQPad-6016 Multifunction I/O Device comes in two versions, 191 mm × 163 mm and 111 mm × 163 mm.

The DAQPad-6016 has two LEDs to communicate the state of the device to users. The green LED, or READY LED, shows the device’s power state and compatibility with the USB device. The yellow LED, or ACTVIE LED, shows the activity of the USB bus. The READY green LED’s first set of pins is labeled 1a . The R5 labeled resistor connects to the onboard LED. The R5 resistor drives enough current to supply power to the LED and is 220 Ω. The READY green LED’s second set of pins is labeled 1b. The 220 Ω R6 labeled resistor corresponds to the ACTIVE LED. 

The DAQPAD-6016 Multifunction I/O Device features 16 analog inputs, several signal connection alternatives, 2 analog outputs, and 32 I/O lines. The DAQPAD-6016 operates on the Windows 2000/XP system and works in conjunction with LabView, VI Logger, Measurement Studio, Lab Windows/CVI, C++, C#, and Visual Basic. The DAQPad-6016 comes with NI-DAQmx service software that allows for rapid system configuration and third-party software interfacing.
