National Instruments RMC-8354 External Controller for PXI

Featured with DDR3 RAM and a Quad-core Intel CPU, the NI RMC-8354 (Part Number: 781650-33) is an External Controller for PXI systems. This Controller is a 1U PC-server-based Controller, which comes with 1 gigabyte of RAM and 500 gigabytes of storage. Thus, the NI RMC-8354 offers the capabilities of a high-performance PC in a compact, rack-mountable size for controlling a PXIe or PXI system through an NI remote controller.  

The CPU is an Intel Core i7-860 CPU, which has 4 cores, an 8 MB cache, and can operate at a maximum clock speed or frequency of 2.8 GHz. The NI RMC-8354 is based on an Intel 3420 chipset that has 1 PCIe 2.0 slot, 4 DIMM sockets, and various onboard I/O interfaces. This External Controller for PXI features an integrated Matrox G200eW graphics controller. For connectivity over Ethernet, there are redundant Intel 82574L Ethernet controllers provided as well. The National Instruments RMC-8354 External Controller for PXI comes with a variety of power management features, including an internal/external modem ring-on, a main switch override mechanism, a Wake-On-LAN header, and more. This External Controller goes into sleep mode automatically depending on the activity of the system, which allows it to consume less power. 

The front panel of the National Instruments RMC-8354 External Controller for PXI contains a variety of I/O ports, indication LEDs, and switches. This External Controller comes with a sophisticated combination of hardware resources, including storage and RAM. However, the user can upgrade the overall performance of the system by opting for additional RAM and additional storage by adding multiple hard disk drives.
