National Instruments RMC-8356 External Controller for PXI

Featured with a 1 TB hard drive and a Quad-core processor, the RMC-8356 (Part Number: 785321-01) is an External Controller for PXI. This External Controller has all the qualities of a powerful PC that can be operated on a standard operating system. The RMC-8356 supports RAID arrays, which makes it capable of supporting multiple hard drives. In its standard configuration, the NI RMC-8356 comes with a single hard drive. However, you can always expand storage by using three additional bays.  

This External Controller for PXI comes equipped with 16 GB of RAM. The processor in the RMC-8356 is a 3.6 GHz Xeon processor by Intel, which can function at speeds as high as 4 GHz in turbo boost mode. The National Instruments RMC-8356 External Controller for PXI is a 1U PC based on the Intel C236 chipset. The onboard LAN ports provided on this PXI Controller include 1 Intel PHY i219LM and 1 Intel I210-AT. Like any other modern computer, the NI RMC-8356 comes with a variety of onboard I/O, including USB and serial ports. 

The National Instruments RMC-8356 External Controller for PXI comes equipped with a 350-watt AC power supply with power factor correction. The 3.5” SATA hard disk drive of this External Controller can be interchanged with another drive, since it is hot-swappable. For internal temperature controlling, the NI RMC-8356 comes equipped with 2 cooling fans. Moreover, this External Controller for PXI has various temperature sensors for temperature monitoring and to indicate overheat conditions. This CPU based Controller allows the user to change the BIOS settings.
