National Instruments FP-3000 Foundation Fieldbus I/O Controller

The NI FP-3000 (Part Number: 777833-01) is a Foundation Fieldbus I/O Controller designed for NI FieldPoint distributed control Input/output (I/O) system. As an independent network interface module, the FP-3000 can connect a Foundation Fieldbus to a node consisting of as many as nine I/O modules.   Moreover, the NI FP-3000 comes with LAS or Link Active Scheduler capabilities and can also execute PID algorithms. For a simplified maintenance and installation experience, the FP-3000 is offered with a variety of auto-configuration and diagnostic features. The combination of this intelligent Controller and the terminal basis operates in a tandem arrangement to create a high-speed data bus. This high-speed data bus offers fast communications between any I/O module and the FP-3000 I/O Controller.

For direct communications between a FOUNDATION Fieldbus link, there is an H1 Fieldbus interface provide. This network interface and controller module enable users to bring discrete and conventional analog I/O devices onto a state-of-the-art Foundation Fieldbus network. The National Instruments FP-3000 can also implement various Foundation Fieldbus compliant function blocks, such as Analog I/O and Discrete I/O. These blocks offer a broad range of functionalities, such as alarming, trending, and scaling.

As far as its controlling characteristics are concerned, the NI FP-3000 can implement the b function block as well. With this network module and controller in place, the user does not need to arrange separate power supplies for all the I/O modules installed in the bank. The FP-3000 requires a single power supply to operate, which regulates and filters this supply to energize all the connected I/O modules.
