National Instruments FP-AI-110 Analog Input Module

The NI FP-AI-110 (Part Number: 777518-110) is an 8-Channel, single-ended, FieldPoint Current and Voltage Analog Input Module. This model can measure milliampere and millivolt signals and offers a software-configurable input filter and input range per channel. It has an update rate of 5 Hz to 0.66 Hz for its 8 channels. With this module, the user will be able to connect and measure signals from a variety of transmitters and sensors directly. The device has 8 voltage input ranges: 0–1 V, 0–5 V, 0–10 V, ±60 mV, ±300 mV, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V; and 3 current input ranges of: 0–20, 4–20, and ±20 mA.

Designed for reliability and productivity, the FP AI 110 National Instruments offers filtered analog inputs at 16-bit resolution. This module comes with several unique features, such as over-ranging, onboard diagnostics, and plug-and-play operation. This module can calibrate, filter, and scale raw signals to appropriate engineering units. To look for problems with the wiring or the module, it conducts various self-diagnostics. The FieldPoint FP-AI-110 comes equipped with a 16-bit delta-sigma type ADC (analog-to-digital) converter. An adjustable low-pass filter is also provided on each channel that is user-configurable for no rejection or 50, 60 Hz.

The availability of 16-bit ADC on the module allows the user to achieve instrument-grade measurements on a distributed embedded system. While operating with voltage inputs and current inputs, the NI FieldPoint FP-AI-110 offers 1.5 MΩ and 100 Ω input impedance. Whereas, it provides 40 V and 30 mA overvoltage and overcurrent protection. While operating at the fundamental frequency, the FP-AI-110 applies 95 dB of rejection. The filter setting of this module defines the rate at which it samples the input. This module draws 350 mW of power from the host network module and is hot swappable. It has a recommended operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C. 

The NI FieldPoint FP-AI-110 Obsolete Status has been declared by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves. 

The FP-AI-110 is available to be calibrated. While the recommended calibration period for individual parts varies, most parts should be calibrated either annually or every two years to ensure accuracy.
