National Instruments FP-AO-210 Analog Output Module for FieldPoint

The FP-AO-210 (Part Number: 777518-210) is an Analog Output Module for FieldPoint from National Instruments. This module is used to control different components such as valves, industrial actuators, and gauges. The NI FP-AO-210 can sustain overrange inputs and has an onboard diagnostic feature.

The FP-AO-210 Analog Output Module features eight output channels. These channels are single-ended with a DAC resolution of 12 bits. The output range falls in the range of 0 V- 10 V. The resolution of the output is 2.5 mA. When the module is powered up, the default output is 0 V. The NI FP-AO-210 is equipped with overvoltage protection and can bear voltages from -10 – 20 V. The module can also sustain a transient voltage up to 2300 V_rms. The FP-AO-210 features isolation up to 250 V_rms. The update rate of the output terminals of the module is up to 200 updates/sec. The FP-AO-210 also incorporates three LED indicators. Two green LEDs show POWER and READY status, whereas the third LED is red and lights up in case of overcurrent on any channel.

The FP-AO-210 Analog Output Module has an internal power source. Each channel can provide up to 1 mA. The module also supports an external power supply from 15 VDC to 30 VDC. By using an external power supply, the module can obtain up to 10 mA. The module also features a power distribution bus. The NI FP-AO-210 incorporates 16 COM terminals and eight power connections. The power terminals are used for current loops or field devices.
