National Instruments FP-DI-AC240 Discrete Input Module

The FP-DI-AC240 is a Discrete Input Module manufactured by National Instruments. The module is available with the part number 778071-02. This module is comprised of two isolated input channels. Since there are two isolated channels, they can both be utilized in applications that need channel-to-channel isolation.

There are two green indicator LEDs on the NI FP-DI-AC240 module, with one LED for each channel. The LEDs indicate when the channel is in the ON or OFF state. The isolation in each channel of the Discrete Input Module provides additional flexibility to the user because each channel can be configured for both sinking as well as sourcing devices. Furthermore, if channel-to-channel isolation is not required, the user can utilize the V and C terminals to bus-connect power supplies for discrete-output field instruments.

The FP-DI-AC240 is designed to operate over a wide range and polarity of voltages. This Discrete Input Module can be either operated for AC or DC voltage for the user’s convenience. The voltage range for this module is 0 to 280 VAC/VDC. The nominal input voltage for the NI FP-DI-AC240 is 240 VAC. The module comes with a minimum power requirement of 60 mW. The mounting of the module is easy; the module can be installed on a simple DIN rail. This module offers a low input impedance of 22 kΩ. This Discrete Input Module has a maximum delay time of 20 ms. The operating temperature of the module makes it practically applicable to all the regions of the world at -40° to 70° C.
