National Instruments FP-DO-AC240 FieldPoint Discrete Output Module

The FP-DO-AC240 is a Discrete Output Module for the FieldPoint series. The NI FP-DO-AC240 is created by National Instruments. This module can be ordered under part number 778071-12. The channels on this module are discrete AC output channels. Therefore, the FP-DO-AC240 is designed for those applications where discrete AC type signals are required.  This module is almost identical to that of the FP-DO-AC120 module. These modules differ only in their output voltage range. The FP-DO-AC240 output can be anywhere in the range of 24 – 280 VAC with a frequency between 25 – 70 Hz. The NI FP-DO-AC240 outputs are triac-style at zero-crossing.  

This Discrete Output Module can easily be mounted on the suitable FP-TB series terminal block. The FP-TB series is a convenient way to install the FP-DO-AC240 and other I/O modules. The FP-TB Terminal Blocks offer both screw and spring terminals where field wiring connections can be made. The NI FP-DO-AC240 has isolated dual channels. Both channels can be used independently for either sourcing or sinking devices. These channels also have a fuse to keep the module safe in case of short circuit. Other protection schemes that are designed for the module include overvoltage protection up to 2300 V_rms transients.  

The FP-DO-AC240 has LEDs for user convenience. These LEDs light up green when the respective channel is in the ON state. The NI FP-DO-AC240 is a plug-and-play module. This means there is no need of installation of any special driver software. The module is automatically detected and installed by the PC. The power required by this Discrete Output Module is 70 mW.
