National Instruments FP-RLY-420 Relay Module for FieldPoint

The NI FP-RLY-420 (Part Number: 777518-420) is an 8-Channel, SPST type Relay Module for FieldPoint. This FieldPoint Relay Module comes with eight single-pole single throw channels and can switch up to 3 amperes, while operating at 35 VDC or 250 VDC. Installing the NI FP-RLY-420 module onto a live terminal base does not impact the bank’s operation.

Each of the two relay channels provided on this module comes with two terminals: NO and IC. All the Vsup and COM terminals are connected internally. For module and load protection, a fast-acting, 3 A, 250 V fuse can be installed at the IC terminal. This Relay Module features eight electromechanical (SPST) relays. To ensure safe installation and configuration, the power-on state of the blade is set as "off." In the ON state, the IC and NO contacts form a short circuit, resulting in an effective resistance of around 150 mΩ between the IC and NO terminals.

The NI FP-RLY-420 features integrated protection MOVs. These MOVs prevent the application of excessively high voltage across the contacts. This module operates with 250 Vrms continuous isolation between the inter-module communication bus and the backplane. The National Instruments FP-RLY-420 Relay Module comes incorporated with high-quality relays, which offer a maximum switching frequency of 20 operations per second and an electrical switching frequency of 1 operation per second at maximum load. The rated operate, release, and bound time of these relays is 8 ms, 4 ms, and 4 ms respectively.
