National Instruments 781207-01 NI FlexRIO FPGA Module

The National Instruments 781207-01 is the part number that identifies the PXIe-7965 NI FlexRIO FPGA Module, which was renamed by NI and may also be found under the model name PXIe-7965R. This flexible module can be used with FlexRIO adapter modules, providing the user with an adjustable I/O for LabVIEW FGPA. The 781207-01 module boasts 132 general-purpose DIO channels of the FPGA are configurable as either 132 single-ended, 66 differential, or a combination of the two. The reconfigurable FPGA of the 781207-01 is a Virtex-5 SX95T, which boasts 8,784 kbits of embedded block RAM. 

One of the standout features of the 781207-01 is that it supports peer-to-peer streaming, allowing data to be directly transferred between modules without the use of a host CPU- allowing for FPGA algorithms to be easily extended. Additionally, data transfers are facilitated by the module’s 16 DMA channels.

The maximum power requirements of the 781207-01 depend on the voltage, with 3 A maximum for +3.3 VDC and 2 A maximum for +12 V. Physically, the module utilizes a high-density card edge I/O connector type. Excluding these connectors, the 781207-01 measures 16.1 cm × 10.8 cm (6.3 in. × 4.3 in.). Lightweight and easily manageable, the module weighs in at only 213 g (7.5 oz). 

Made for functionality in a range of environmental specifications, it can operating effectively in a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, and it can be safely stored within a wide-ranging storage temperature range –20 °C to 70 °C. The operating relative humidity is noncondensing and ranges from 10% to 90%, while the relative humidity for storage conditions is also noncondensing and ranges from 5% to 95%.
