National Instruments 785174-01 FlexRIO Coprocessor Module

The 785174-01 from National Instruments is the descriptive part number for the PXIe-7915 FlexRIO Coprocessor Module. Designed for RF applications that require a significant amount of signal processing, this module streams data to and from modules in a PXI chassis without the use of a host controller. This is accomplished through peer-to-peer streaming with a speed of 7 GB/s. The 8 digital I/O channels of the 785174-01 are single-ended and feature individual direction control capabilities. Additionally, they support voltages of 3.3 V, 2.5 V, 1.8 V, 1.5 V, and 1.2 V.

The 785174-01 boasts a reconfigurable Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA, which is capable of enhanced signal processing when programmed using either Xilinx VIvado or LabVIEW. The total block RAM of the FPGA is 38.0 Mb, and it features a default timebase of 80 MHz. 60 DMA channels facilitate the data transfers of the device. 

The module features 4 GB of onboard DRAM in addition to the FPGA. This onboard memory is divided into 2 banks of 2 GB. With a physical bus width of 32 bits, the DRAM operates at a clock rate of 1064 MHz. The total power consumption of the 785174-01 is, at maximum, 58 W. 

Excluding the connectors, the dimensions of the 785174-01 measure 18.8 cm × 12.9 cm (7.4 in. × 5.1 in.) and it weighs 190 g (6.7 oz). When in operation, the module functions best when used within an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. When in storage, the device is able to withstand temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 71 °C.
