National Instruments GPIB-PCIIB GPIB Interface Board

The GPIB-PCIIB is a GPIB Interface Board fabricated for industry standard architecture bus. The NI GPIB-PCIIB board is designed by National Instruments. The GPIB-PCIIB board belongs to the GPIB Series of boards. The NI GPIB-PCIIB can be installed with NI-488 driver software on computers. This Interface Board is compatible with the disk operating systems (DOS) by Microsoft. The National Instruments GPIB-PCIIB GPIB Interface Board requires either a 3.5 in. NI-488 Distribution Disk for NI-488 MS-DOS Handler, BASICA, QuickBASIC, C*, and Universal Interfaces or a 5.25 in. NI-488 Distribution Disk for NI-488 MS-DOS Handler, BASICA, QuickBASIC, C*, and Universal Interfaces. Double-shielded GPIB cables can optionally be used with the board as well.

The GPIB-PCIIB Interface Board is available with a GPIB primary address as well as a secondary address. The GPIB-PCIIB is built with input/output addresses for computers. This GPIB Interface Board can be used as a system controller for devices based on its bus. The NI GPIB-PCIIB is capable of time supervision and allocation for executing functions. The GPIB-PCIIB board paves a way to abort input/output transmissions from and to the board.

The NI GPIB-PCIIB is manufactured with an interrupt line, a DMA channel, and high-speed options for transmitting data. The GPIB-PCIIB board has a time limitation wait function and input/output calls with a duration of about 10 seconds. This GPIB Interface Board provides a transfer rate of more than 300 kb/s. The GPIB-PCIIB is utilized with an RF-shielded connector based on the IEEE-488 protocol. The NI GPIB-PCIIB shows full software compatibility to the GPIB-PCII and GPIB-PCIIA boards offered by National Instruments.
