National Instruments IC-3120 Industrial Controller

The NI IC-3120 (Part Numbers: 784959-01 and 784960-01) is a durable, small Industrial Controller. This model features a 1.91 GHz, Quad-Core Intel Atom processor. The IC-3120 offers two GigE Ports with PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology, network connectivity, and FPGA-based I/O capabilities for distributed control applications.

This Industrial Controller comes with DDR3L type 4 GB RAM that can operate at a speed of 1333 MT/s. This model also has 2 GB nonvolatile storage. The reconfigurable FPGA incorporated in the NI IC-3120 is a Spartan-6 LX25, which offers 30,064 flip-flops, 15,032 6-input LUTs, 38 DSP48A1 slices, and 52 (936 Kbits) RAM blocks. This controller does not have a synchronization feature.

For networking and connectivity, this National Instruments Industrial Controller comes with a standard Ethernet port (RJ45). There are two PoE-Capable Network Ports provided as well. Each of the PoE ports is designed to supply 15.4 Watts of power. The NI IC-3120 comes featured with eight Isolated Inputs (current sinking types). There are also eight Isolated Output Channels (current sourcing type). For video output, the front panel of the IC-3120 NI contains a VGA port that can be accessed through any standard VGA cable.

The single seral port featured on this Industrial Controller can be configured to operate in either RS-232 mode or RS-485/422 mode. Users can configure the serial port mode by utilizing the BIOS setup utility. The single serial port is a RJ50, 10-position modular jack, which can connect to various serial devices, such as scanners, PLCs, and lighting devices.
