National Instruments IC-3121 Industrial Controller

The NI IC-3121 (Part Numbers: 784961-01 and 784962-01) is a microprocessor based industrial controller. This model is specifically created to resist challenging operating settings usually found in distributed control, supervisory control, automation, and industrial applications. The IC-3121 comes equipped with an Intel Atom 1.91 GHz Quad-Core Processor and two USB 3.0 ports. In addition, this controller has one VGA connector, one Serial Port, one Gigabit Ethernet Port, and two USB 2.0 Ports.

The 44-pin Digital I/O port provided on this Industrial Controller contains eight isolated inputs, eight isolated outputs, two single-ended input lines, and eight bidirectional TTL lines. The digital I/O port can easily be connected to any connector block or shielded device through a shielded cable. The Standard Gigabit Ethernet port incorporated in the NI IC-3121 can be used as a communication bridge between the controller, a network connection, and other Ethernet enabled compatible devices. The unit can automatically detect connection speed and automatically configures itself for a seamless communication.

The National Instruments IC-3121 allows the user to configure the serial port to be used in either one of the two serial communication modes. With this Industrial Controller, the user can harmonize the results of image inspection with other industrial I/O. Moreover, this controller’s advanced features enable the user to control cameras, motors, and other types of devices with the use of network triggers. In addition to networking status LEDs, STATUS and PWR/FAULT LEDs are also provided on the front panel for simple troubleshooting.
