National Instruments PCI-6238 Multifunction DAQ

The PCI-6238 (Part Number: 779623-01) is an advanced, industrial Multifunction DAQ Device from the M Series developed by National Instruments. The industrial M Series devices are ideal for measuring and controlling voltages and process currents from digital and analog sensors, pumps, transducers, motors, relays, valves, and more. Current I/O bank isolation is the main feature of this DAQ device. Isolation makes the PCI-6238 transient free and noise immune. Ground loops are also reduced by this feature.

The NI PCI 6238 Multifunction DAQ has eight differential current input channels. The ADC resolution of the input channels is 16 bits. The sampling rate of the PCI-6238 is up to 250 kS/s. The range of the input current is +20 mA. The maximum impedance of the input channels is 100 Ω. The input channels can bear the overcurrent up to +40 mA. The PCI-6238 also has two analog current output channels. The output channels support dual sampling. The rate of sampling for the output channels is 500 kS/s when a single channel is used. In the case of dual channel sampling, the maximum rate reduces to 450 kS/s per channel. The analog I/O channels of the PCI-6238 have FIFO buffers. The memory of the FIFO buffer at the input terminal is 4095 samples, whereas the output FIFO buffer memory is 8191 samples.

The PCI-6238 Multifunction DAQ also features ten digital PFI channels. Six PFI channels are input channels. The other four channels are used as output channels. The range of the digital input channels is 0 V to 30 V. The input current is up to 9 mA. Two 32-bit counters/timers are also available on the PCI-6238 device.
