National Instruments PCI-6254 Multifunction DAQ

The National Instruments PCI-6254 (Part number: 779071-01) is a fast Multifunctional M Series data acquisition (DAQ) board. It is developed to operate at high sampling rates. This M Series device consists of advanced properties such as NI-MCal tuning technology, which helps improve the accuracy of measurements.  This model is also structured with the NI-STC 2 system controller and the NI-PGIA 2 programmable amplifier. These features help to enhance precision and completion. The NI PCI 6254 has 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels (with a 16-bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 1.25 MS/s), 48 digital I/O and 2 counter/timer I/O lines (with a 32 bit resolution and a frequency of 80 MHz). It is featured with an analog and digital trigger system. These provides four times increased resolution. It also has the NI LabVIEW SignalExpress LE communicating data sorting software and NI-DAQmx driver software.

The National Instruments PCI 6254 has 32 differential clocked lines. These lines can operate to 10 MHz frequency. It has a built-in NIST-traceable standardization system. There are also more than 70 signal conditioning options. The built-in NI-PGIA 2 amplifier enables the NI PCI-6254 to settle time at a higher scanning rate. It ensures the 16 bit resolution precision even at the greatest speed while measuring all channels. The NI PCI 6254 driver enables communication between the DAQ hardware and system software. This driver software helps prevent crashes and increases system and hardware performance. The device is equipped with 2 68-pin VHDCI I/O connectors.

The National Instruments PCI 6254 can operate at the maximum sample rate of 1.25 MS/s per channel. The highest average sampling rate for multichannel is 1 MS/s. The maximum operating voltage for analog inputs is ±11 V. This range is for both signal and common modes. The PCI-6254 has one external digital trigger with selectable polarity. The device weighs 5.3 oz., and measures 3.8 x 6.1 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 ºC to 55 ºC.

PCI-6254 Legacy Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
