National Instruments PXI-6259 PXI Multifunction I/O Module

Featured with 16 differential or 32 single-ended Analog Input channels (16-Bit, 1.25 MS per second), 48 Digital I/O channels, and 4 Analog Output channels, the National Instruments PXI-6259 (Part Number: 779632-01, 191325F-01L) is a Multifunction I/O Module. This module has correlated digital I/O, two 32-bit timers/counters, analog I/O, and more. It is a low-cost yet effective module with robust DAQ capabilities for a broad range of applications. With SCXI or SCC signal conditioning modules, the user can also add a sensor and HV measurement capability to their PXI-6259. The NI-DAQmx driver software can be used with the NI PXI-6259 to keep the measurement and configuration process simple.

The PXI-6259 is a promising solution with a timing accuracy up to 50 ppm for the sample state. For improving measurement accuracy, this module has NI-MCal calibration technology. Additionally, this module comes with 6 DMA channels to provide high-speed data throughput. The NI PXI-6259 comes with an onboard, integrated NI-PGIA 2 amplifier, which is designed to operate with fast settling times at high rates of scanning while ensuring 16-bit accuracy. With this Multifunction I/O Module, the user will be able to achieve analog as well as digital triggering.

This module comes with seven programmable input ranges/channel and up to 48 digital I/O lines. This PXI Multifunction I/O Module can facilitate X1, X2, or X4 Quadrature Encoder Inputs as well. The PXI-6259 offers ±11 V of AI GND maximum operating voltage for analog signals. While in the “On” state, the input impedance remains >10 GΩ in parallel with 100 pF (AI+ to AI GND) and (AI- to AI GND).  This module has a timing resolution of 50 ns. 

The NI-DAQmx driver software can be used with the NI PXI-6259 to keep the measurement and configuration process simple. Additionally, the software can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The software is compatible with application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows, and Measurement Studio. The device is equipped with a 68-pin shielded connector block.

PXI-6259 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
