National Instruments VXI-PCI8026 VXIbus Interface Kit for PCI

The VXI-PCI8026 is a VXIbus Interface Kit for PCI systems. The NI VXI-PCI8026 is designed and manufactured by National Instruments. The VXI-PCI8026 kit is available with the part number 777119-084. The kit comes with an MXI-2 cable. The NI VXI-PCI8026 kit is designed to link a PCI system with a VXIbus directly. The interface link type is an MXI-2 bus. When a PCI-based computer is interfaced with a VXIbus using the VXI-PCI8026 VXIbus Interface Kit, it can perform all the functions of an embedded computer.

The National Instruments VXI-PCI8026 VXIbus Interface Kit comes with different components. The kit includes an NI VXI-MXI-2 module with slot 0 compatibility, the NI PCI-MXI-2 board, as well as a flexible MXI-2 cable. This interface kit is VXIplug&play compliant. The VXI-PCI8026 comes with pre-installed NI-VXI/NI-VISA driver software as well.   

The operating system supported by the NI VXI-PCI8026 is Linux. The VXI-PCI8026 is compatible with several types of application software. These software types include Microsoft VB, C++, LabVIEW, and Measurement Studio. The NI VXI-PCI8026 can access the internal memory of the computer as well. Thus, data can be transferred directly between the VXIbus masters and computer memory. The data transfer is controlled by the NI-VXI/NI-VISA driver software. The VXI-PCI8026 can transfer data at a sustained rate up to 23 MB/s or a burst rate of 33 MB/s.

VXI-PCI8026 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the VXIbus Interface Kit will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
