National Instruments VXI-PCI8345 VXIbus Interface Kit

The VXI-PCI8345 (Part Number: 778301-01) VXIbus MXI-3 Interface Kit is designed by National Instruments. It is a system that provides a bridge for PCI. The NI VXI-PCI8345 kit links any PCI based computer system with the MXI-3 interface. The VXI-PCI8345 is used with a fiber-optic cable. A fiber-optic cable is required where electrical isolation is mandatory between the chassis and the PC.

The VXI-PCI8345 provides message based and register based communication. The NI VXI-PCI8345 also provides direct trigger and interruption control. The VXI-PCI8345 has a C-size single slot with a front LED indicator. This VXIbus MXI-3 Interface Kit has optical connectors for input output devices for MXI, triggering I/O connectors, as well as an EXT CLK connector. The VXI-PCI8345 offer the plug and play feature with integrated software which is user friendly. The VXI-PCI8345 kit can easily extend the PCI bus of the computer into slot 0 of the VXI chassis, which enhances the interfacing options of the VXI-PCI8345. However, this comes with the requirement that the National Instruments VXI-PCI8345 requires the energized chassis before booting the computer.

Hardware and software options can be easily configurable using different tools like Measurement & Automation Explorer. Using the extensive and comprehensive programming libraries and the NI-VXI/NI-VISA software, one can easily program the configuration of multiple mainframes. keeping the compatibility of the NI VXI-PCI8345 across all corresponding platforms.

VXI-PCI8345 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the VXIbus Interface Kit will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
