National Instruments ExpressCard-8360 MXI-Express Interface

The ExpressCard-8360 is a single channel MXI Express module. The ExpressCard-8360 kit consists of a high-speed connector cable, cable driver, and an express card module connector. This ExpressCard 8360 is manufactured by National Instruments and can be ordered using part number 779507-01. The NI ExpressCard-8360 can be connected with other devices with the same built-in high-speed cable connector since it provides all necessary signals for the connection, such as a system clock and a reset signal. The National Instruments ExpressCard-8360 is fully compatible and operated with the specifications of PXI hardware. This interface has a maximum cable length of 7 m.

 The ExpressCard 8360 requires a maximum of 20 mA current to operate at +3.3 V Aux or a maximum current of 30 mA. The NI ExpressCard-8360 pollution degree should be nonconductive in category 2 and is for indoor use only. The ExpressCard-8360 can bear a non-operating thermal shock of -20° to 65° C, 5 times up to 5 ms. The ExpressCard-8360 has high bandwidth serial connection which is transparent to drivers, software, and other applications to control PXI systems by using servers, workstations, laptops, and high-performance desktop systems.

The slot requirements for the National Instruments ExpressCard-8360 are one ExpressCard/34 or ExpressCard/54 slot. For complete express functionality, such as controller identification, trigger routing, chassis identification, and slot detection, install the service software of the PXI Platform. The MXI-Express BIOS compatibility software also supported by the ExpressCard 8360 but this is not a physical dip switch supported but toggled using software.
