National Instruments PCIe-8363 Device for PXI Remote Control

The PCIe-8363 (part number 788814-01) from National Instruments is a 1-Port MXI-Express Device specifically designed for PXI Remote Control. When utilized for PXI system control, the PCIe-8363 remote controller offers an x1 PCI Express link via a copper wire to the PXIe-8360 PXI Remote Control Module. The controller boasts a 208 MB/s data transfer rate. 

This device serves as an MXI-Express remote controller, facilitating remote control of devices or systems over cabled PCI from a computer with a PCI Express slot. Importantly, this link is transparent to software applications and drivers, simplifying the control process without requiring additional programming. This means that PXI modules can be used as if they were PCI devices directly installed in the computer.

The PCIe-8363 features a compact printed circuit board measuring 2.64 in. X 2.80 in. that weighs a mere 1.5 oz. It comes equipped with an 18-pin TDP I/O Connector and adheres to a standard height, half length, single slot form factor. There is no need for an integrated fan in the controller.

In terms of power requirements, the PCIe-8363 draws a typical current of 650 mA with a maximum current of 1150 mA for a power rail of +3.3V. For +3.3 VAux, the typical current is 1 mA with a maximum of 10 mA. For +12V, there is no current draw.

The PCIe-8363 has a maximum altitude rating of 2000 m (800 mbar) at a 25 °C ambient temperature and can operate in Pollution Degree 2 environments.
