National Instruments NB-DMA-8-G Direct Memory Access Board

The NB-DMA-8-G is developed with direct memory access board capabilities. The NI NB-DMA-8-G is manufactured by National Instruments. The NB-DMA-8-G board comes from the NB Series boards. The NI NB-DMA-8-G DMA board is built with the part number 776161-01. This board can be utilized with the Macintosh II platform and will function in any of the slots. The NB-DMA-8 works with NI-488 or LabVIEW software. In addition, NI-DAQ for Macintosh can be installed as well and will work in conjunction with NI-488.

The NI NB-DMA-8-G board is based on the Intel 2380 direct memory access controller (DMAC) chip, which is similar to the EISA DMA controller. The NB-DMA-8-G can support a maximum of seven DMA requests from the RTSI bus. This DMA Board can additionally support eight DMA requests utilized by the onboard IEEE-488 interface. The NB-DMA-8-G board can be utilized for data acquisition applications for controlling purposes. The NI NB-DMA-8-G comes equipped with a 50-pin connector and a 96-pin connector to provide connections for boards.   

The NB-DMA-8-G is configured to implement single, demand, and block DMA transfer modes. The NI NB-DMA-8-G can transfer data with fetch-and-deposit modes by utilizing two single NuBus transactions. This Direct Memory Access Board has temporary data storage options between the two processing transactions. The NB-DMA-8-G board can perform the channel transactions of 8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit. The National Instruments NB-DMA-8-G DMA Board can share system memory. The NB-DMA-8-G has buffer chaining and auto initialization features, along with TC interrupt.
