National Instruments NB-MIO-16X Multifunction I/O Board

The NB-MIO-16X is best described as a board with multifunction digital, analog and timing I/O functions. The NI NB-MIO-16X board has been specially designed to meet the signaling requirements to be used with Macintosh NuBus computers. The NB-MIO-16X board was developed by National Instruments. The NB-MIO-16X is available in four different versions based on conversion speeds and selectable gains. The part numbers assigned to the four versions are unique such as part number 776259-01 is assigned to NB-MIO-16XL (18). Part number 776259-02 is assigned to NB-MIO-16XL (42). The part number for the two high conversion rates include 776259-11 for NB-MIO-16XH (18) and part number 776259-12 for NB-MIO-16XH (42).

This Multifunction I/O Board offers data transfer rates of 55 ksamples/sec. The board is also capable of delivering premier data acquisition rates due to the availability of a 16-word FIFO buffer capacity. The analog input channels can be extended further if the NI NB-MIO-16X board is used with the AMUX-64T Multiplexer. The NB-MIO-16X board is also equipped with 12-bit DACs with a double-buffered multiplying capability. This Multifunction I/O Board can interface with the RTSI bus, which can be used to ensure DMA operational ability if used with a DMA board.

The NI NB-MIO-16X board can be used in a wide array of applications from machines, process controls, instrumentation, and many other applications. The eight TTL based output lines available can be used for machine-to-machine communication, as well as for switching control with relays. The power requirement for the NB-MIO-16X board is ±12 VDC (36 mA) or 5 VDC (1.4 A).
