National Instruments NB-TIO-10 Timing Board

The NB-TIO-10 is a Timing Board by National Instruments. The NB-TIO-10 is part of the NB Series of boards by NI. The NI NB-TIO-10 is specially designed for Macintosh NuBus computers. This Timing Board is used for pulse generation, event counting, and frequency generation. The NB-TIO-10 is developed with 16 digital I/O channels. The default state for these channels is with latching disabled. The NB-TIO-10 has two inputs labeled SOURCE and GATE, as well as an onboard output slot labeled OUT.

The National Instruments NB-TIO-10 is created as a timer or a counter for recording time sequences during board operations. The NI NB-TIO-10 can use multiple time-bases for counting operations. The NB-TIO-10 can be used for the output of a next lower-order timer as a signal source. This Timing Board initiates two kinds of output signals during operation. One is the terminal count (TC) pulse output and the second is the terminal count (TC) toggle output. The NB-TIO-10 contains the frequency output that can be programmed with the counter/timer functions.

The NI NB-TIO-10 is configured with two Am-9513 onboard chips that can be used for timing functions. These system timing chips deliver ten automatic 16-bit timers. Two frequency outputs can be programmed by the timing chips. The NB-TIO-10 can be connected by an input/output connector to the Am-9513 counter signals. This Timing Board can additionally connect with the RTSI bus interfaces. The NI NB-TIO-10 is developed with 14 signals for a connection to the RTSI interfacing triggered lines. These 14 signals are configured from Am-9513 as input and output signals on the NB-TIO-10 board.
