National Instruments 185196-02 Serial Cable

The NI 185196-02 is a Serial Cable. This cable is equipped with eight, 9-Pin, Male DB-9 connectors for the Back-End Connection and a 68-Pin, Male SCSI connector for the Front-End Connection. This Serial Cable is available in a 2-meter length and supports the RS232 serial protocol. The 185196-02 cable is a standard accessory with the National Instruments PCI-232/8 Serial Interface. The 68-pin connector of the PCI-232/8 can be changed into 8 serial interfaces with the help of an 185196-02 cable.  

A combination of this cable and a PCI based serial card can let you control as many as eight serial communication enabled devices with the help of a single personal computer. The 8 serial connectors of the 185196-02 are designed to be plugged into standard, D-Sub, female serial connectors. However, a device with a male serial connector can also be accessed through this cable if you have an appropriate, male-to-female serial converter in-line.
